One year ago, between the Christmas and New Years holidays, InterVarsity hosted 16,000 attendees at our Urbana 09 Student Missions Conference in St. Louis. For many who attended it was a life-changing experience.
Recently we heard from the Kruger family in Iowa that their son Sam went to Urbana 09. Reporting back to his church, which had contributed to his Urbana registration, Sam said, “I went to Urbana and I realized what a mission heart is about and that I don’t have to go overseas [to be a missionary].” Sam was used by God to lead Bible studies for other students on his dorm floor when he returned to Iowa State University after Urbana.
Sam was killed October 8 in a tragic car accident. Over 1,000 people attended his visitation and funeral, where this video of Sam’s testimony for Christ was shared.

InterVarsity staff are already beginning work on Urbana 12, which will be held December 27-31, 2012, in St. Louis.
