Project Description:
BAyUP is a partnership between InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and a number of Bay Area churches and ministries. Students spend a significant amount of time in service in the community while learning about such issues as justice, racial reconciliation, stewardship, and ethnic identity development. This summer is a multi-ethnic and cross-cultural experience, both among the team members and in the Bay Area community.
Activities:
Activities vary depending on site, but may include: organizing and running summer kids clubs, tutoring, assisting in drug and alcohol recovery programs, and more.
Ministry Site:
Ministry sites may include: Harbor House, World Impact-West Oakland, Campfire, Citi Team, New Hope Church, Sacred Heart Community Service, and San Francisco Christian Center.

Raising of Support:
We will assist participants in raising support by providing help in writing support letters and other suggestions to raise support. It is our goal that any qualified participant would be able to attend no matter their financial resources.
Living Situation:
Students will live near their work sites. They will live in rented apartments, houses or in the houses of church members.
