The Urbana 06 student missions convention is history, but the event lives on through youtube. We found delegates who recorded and posted their experiences during five days in St. Louis at the end of December. Whether or not you were at Urbana 06, you’ll be able to capture the convention through the eyes of students who were profoundly changed.

Several InterVarsity chapters made videos to show their fellowship groups back on campus. Travel to Urbana 06 with students from the InterVarsity chapter at Central College (IA).The scenery from Iowa to Missouri wasn’t great, but the convention rocked.
Students from the University of New Hampshire summarize their experience by stating, “We came, we learned, so that we can change the world.”

Here is a video that we really liked from ktgong who say it’s “my account of what happened in St. Louis.” Scenes from Urbana 06 are integrated with scenes of people and places around the world, communicating the theme of mission and calling to change the world:
In Jenny Chu’s video, she says, “Through the study and exposition of Ephesians, we believe that God’s heart for the world, and how we can be part of that, was revealed.”
Melissa Felkins captured one speaker’s challenge, “Do you hear God saying something to you?” Find out how one delegate responded to the corn-meal porridge dinner that was served to identify with the poor in Africa who depend on a similar meal as their only food.

Here is a video clip put together by HCJB Global, one of the hundreds of missions organizations exhibiting at Urbana 06. One HCJB representative reflected on the significance of the week, saying, “We can’t even measure the impact of speaking into the lives of 22,000 people who will go on to do a million things.”
