A Psalm of Victory

(following the pattern of a psalm of praise)

Acknowledge the Lord,
all the earth!
Acknowledge his name,
all peoples of this age.
Come into his presence with awe,
Come into his light and be changed.

Know that our God is real,
and not a construct of
deluded minds.
He has made us; we are his,
we are his and his alone.
He deflates our philosophies
and punctures the pretense of human knowledge.
He invades our world;
he steps in without our
permission.

Rush to him, you who hunger
for love and affection.
Run to him, you who mourn,
for you will be held tightly in his arms.
Call to him, you who hate,
who cannot trust or love again.
Come, don't flee, you who
fear his wrath; let his
pardon turn your terror
into laughter.

For our God loves his people,
all the families of earth.
He blesses the broken,
mending ruined souls.
The Lord of Hosts is his name;
his army has won:
your soul is free.
His victory spilled forth from a hillside cave.

Let those who stand in awe tremble for joy;
let those who receive his love sing a new song.
