Kevin was unable to maintain his involvement with the choir itself. However, his involvement led to a wonderful relationship with the president of the gospel choir, Chaun Johnson. “Chaun and I get together to talk and pray for one another,” says Kevin. “This friendship has led into some good discussions about racism and racial reconciliation. As we have grown closer, Chaun and I have talked about doing more ministry projects together. One idea, from staff worker John Hochevar, has been to give a brief testimony about how we have grown together as friends and have dealt with our own racial reconciliation. Chaun has also extended an invitation for the InterVarsity chapter to help out as prayer partners during an upcoming gospel workshop that the group is holding at Bradley. We hope the gospel choir and the InterVarsity chapter will interact more, get to know each other more and start working together on racial reconciliation. I have been honored to have Chaun call me his brother.” |
