I sat looking into the past as shown to me
by that mirror by which our lives are chronicled.
Never had I seen men and women
of many races, cultures, and experiences
sit, laugh, cry, play, eat, drink, sing, shout, dance and pray.
But here was my first glance at Chapter Camp.
That sight I see again, a panoply of God’s creation,
A beauty so rich, my mind is emblazoned with its memory;
My new and beautiful family.

In the morning I say to my teacher, ”Hello;”
At noon to my brother, “Como estas;”
At the evening to my friend, “Eku irole;”
At night to my sister, “Kunichiwa;”
And when that time beckons when we must depart,
I will utter in French, “Au revoir.”

For by one amazing grace
One marvelous truth,
One divine purpose,
And to one life, we stand here,
To Jesus, a king for all, forever.
