Will you praise God? (a "group psalm" á la Dr. Seuss) In our last issue we suggested a small-group idea--writing a group-generated Psalm. Lest you feel daunted by the task of producing high-caliber poetry, here’s an example (in the vein of Dr. Seuss) that will put you at ease. This was a group effort from a few years ago by students in the Tulane U. Graduate Christian Fellowship:
Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD with things that toot.
Praise Him, O, you feathered hoot.
Will you praise Him in your car?
Will you praise Him from afar?
Would you praise Him where you are?
Would you praise Him on your head?
Would you praise Him from your bed?
Will you praise Him late at night?
Will you praise Him when you wake?
Will you praise Him while you bake?
Will you praise Him eating steak?
Please don’t praise Him if you’re fake!
That would be a big mistake!!
Would you praise Him with a fish?
Would you praise Him with a dish?
Will you praise the great I AM
While you eat green eggs and ham?
Praise the Lord! |
