The term "lifestyle" describes the attitudes, behaviors, and expectations you have toward the life you lead. Similarly, the attitudes, behaviors, and expectations you have about your work could be termed your "workstyle." Paul highlights five key areas of a Christlike workstyle in Titus 2:9-10. Think of the job you hold (or will hold this summer). How does your workstyle compare? (See the paragraphs below.) According to verse 10, there's a purpose behind this godly workstyle: "that [workers] may adorn the doctrines of God our Savior in all things." Your attitudes and actions on the job can make the gospel of Christ attractive to coworkers and customers. What impression are you making? Characteristics of a godly workstyle (Titus 2:9-10):
"Obedient to their
own masters" (Authority)
"Well pleasing in
all things" (Excellence)
"Not answering
back" (Conflict)
"Not
pilfering" (Honesty and Integrity)
"Showing all
good fidelity" (Loyalty and Dependability) Taken from "Your 'Workstyle'" (2206) in The Word in Life Study Bible (NKJV) © 1993, 1996 by Thomas Nelson, Inc. |
