Do you seem to have a lot of "fringers" in your fellowship? Do you have a large core of regular members but few participants who are checking out the group? Here are a few keys to understanding what to do next:

  • A large fringe and small core isn't all bad, unless you also are lacking leaders. It could mean real growth ahead. But it could also mean something has caused former members to leave.

  • A large core and little fringe might mean you're in danger of becoming ingrown. Do you need to reach out more to the campus?

  • A lot of participants with few committed members might indicate that it's time to sound a clear call to your vision for the campus. Getting students into solid weekend training experiences will help them find direction and draw them closer to the Lord and deeper into your community. It's time to invest in future leaders, too.
