Large-group meetings:

  • Are first-timers greeted by chapter leaders and introduced to others?

  • Is the format aiding your goals for worship, spiritual nurture and seeker-friendly outreach?

  • Are students of various ethnicities finding a large-group culture that they can feel comfortable in?

  • Are visitors and new members encouraged to form new relationships by joining a small group?

  • Are your speakers treated well enough that they would consider returning?

Small-group meetings:

  • As you plan your small-group meetings, are you allowing time for:
    • getting to know each other?
    • Bible study?
    • prayer?
    • creatively imagining ways to reach out together?

  • Are you finding ways to nurture and encourage each other outside of your weekly small-group time?

Once people get to know each other, your small-group might go through a rocky time of transition. Your attitude and leadership role are very important here. Are you:

  • Open and listening to any criticisms?

  • Empathetic to members and acting to accommodate their concerns when appropriate?

  • Flexible, yet committed to your vision and purpose?

  • Allowing members to find and use their gifts to contribute to the group?
