Day of Rest
A Sabbath Poem
A poem about Sabbath rest, inside back cover. |
Day of Rest
On Sunday afternoon,
serene and solitary,
with sun-glint dripping
into the room,
and shadows dappled on the shade,
there is a napping quiet,
quiet,
there is a sleep of Sabbath rest;
day of calm and thoughtfulness;
to think, reflect and pray,
oh, day
of hushes in the breathless sigh,
of moments where time
is not a clock or king,
and in the heart
the spirit sings.
