Our Strategic Plan

Two years ago, we mapped a new strategic plan to help us journey toward our ministry’s future. In the 2007 - 2008 fiscal year we faithfully pursued the plan and saw exciting results.

Last school year was evangelistically fruitful. We saw more students make decisions to follow Christ than in any other of the last twenty years. The number of graduate students making faith decisions nearly doubled.

Multiethnic ministries are also growing. Our chapters’ ethnic demographics are increasingly representative of the racial diversity on campuses in the U.S. Each category of our ethnic minority ministry has increased, some categories in the double and, amazingly, in the triple digits.

As we move into this school year we will continue planting new chapters. We are planting twenty in each of the next three years. We anticipate God transforming many lives.

Our Strategic Plan contains specific goals:

• Train staff and students in evangelism
• Select exceptional staff members for chapter planting and chapter building
• Apply best practices learned from other Christian organizations
• Enlist faculty members to serve as chapter advisors
• Reallocate resources to strengthen our ministries on strategic campuses
• Proclaim and demonstrate the gospel in socially relevant and compelling ways
• Equip staff and students to minister in ethnically diverse communities
• Publish books and other resources to challenge people to think about the gospel

Our goals describe only part of our hopes and dreams for our ministry’s future. Both our staff and our donors are faithful, following God’s call to advance his kingdom. So with trust in God and a visionary plan for our future, InterVarsity embraces the opportunities to minister, serve, and engage the university with the good news of Jesus Christ.
