Michigan State University (MSU) was buzzing from November 6-8, 2007, with The Price of Life invitational. It took great faith, and a lot of people, to reach a campus of over 40,000 students with the message of God’s love. And it took creativity to artistically demonstrate God’s displeasure with human injustice. But God blessed the InterVarsity students’ evangelistic efforts with 103 people who made first-time decisions for Christ.

The invitational offered students and faculty fifteen Proxë Stations (interactive displays relating current world issues to the gospel), seven evangelistic gatherings that focused on ethnic-specific student groups, a 24/7 prayer tent, and a campus-wide outreach called The Main Event.

After talking with a student who had gone through a Proxë Station and revealed himself to be a new believer, an InterVarsity staff intern said, “This one interaction makes this whole event worth it.” God’s transformation of even one individual gives us joy and gratitude, but 103 new Christians is an amazing blessing.

Apart from the number of new Christians, 1,000 students participated in The Main Event, and about 150 students indicated that they would join one of the Christian groups on campus.

Through the power of God, the cooperation of different on-campus student ministries, and the commitment of InterVarsity students to focus the light of Christ on social injustice, thousands of students heard the gospel.
