Asian American views on Ethnic Specific Ministry and Multi-ethnic Ministry This paper will address the two main types of Asian American ministry that we have in InterVarsity: ethnic specific and multiethnic. (Within the category of ethnic specific fellowships, they are Pan Asian American, Korean American or Chinese American). We will talk about the Scriptural basis for these fellowships, presenting two views as well as to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the two types of ministries. This paper is intended for Asian American staff and students. Though it may relate to other situations as well, it is not intended to address issues of all ethnic specific ministries. Before we start, we want to start by introducing ourselves a bit and sharing some about our background, and why we are writing this paper.  (more info)

Engaging Culture Unit 3: Ministry Strategies This is the third of three parts of training, designed to help people engage with an increasingly postmodern culture. This is the heart of where the first two units are heading, where I build off the bases of images of leadership and the history of our culture towards effective strategies for ministry (at any level or context). These are a bit general, but I think are important correctives to things we often miss. I try to draw most of what I think out of Scripture, so this really isn't anything new, just a correction of misperceptions people have. Especially those who have not examined assumptions behind faith practices.  (more info)

Our response is a hybrid GIG team that asks every leader to do evangelism but only holds them accountable for shorter periods of time. It's worked great in Tampa.  (more info)
