Primary and supplemental planting resources
for staff planters and coaches

Updated version: Chapter Planting Manual, version 3.0 by Shawn Young, Brian Sanders and Chris Nichols. PDF format. This is the latest version (May 2008) of the training manual for staff who are planting chapters. It offers a model for planting along with timelines and diagrams. Note: Permission for staff to print hard copies locally is now included in the table of contents.

Growth Matters: Numbers Count: Biblical reflections on Numerical Growth by Daniel J. Denk. We are in a time of transition within InterVarsity with regard to growth and numbers. This paper examines the basis for valuing growth and numbers in our ministry culture.

NEW: Chapter planting: worksheet for strategic planning by Marcia J. Wang, based on ideas from the 2007 – 2008 planting cohort. This Excel worksheet regroups the questions provided at the end of each section of the Chapter Planting Manual. Rather than seeing all the four planting stages for each essential, this regroups the six essentials questions by the four planting stages.

Student Chapter Planting Handbook by the Chapter Planting Task Force. This is a brief student version of the Chapter Planting Manual. Draft in progress. This is the document handed out at Urbana 06.

Stories from four-year, smaller campuses (Mostly residential with some commuter campuses.)

Stories about specific groups (Greeks, NCF, ethnic minority, academic field, etc.)

Tell your story! We are actively collecting stories about planting. Please tell us your story (or send us an update)! Upload your document to the MX, or, in order to help us keep some uniformity for gathering trends, use our handy-dandy template. Download it (a Word doc with an outline), fill it out, rename your file and upload it. Let us know when you’ve uploaded something to the MX so we can find it and add it to our listings on these pages.
