This is a one-page graphic that situates the Christian live in the overlap of the Present Age (life "in Adam" and characterized by death) and the Age to Come (life "in Christ" and characterized by Life and Shalom). I use this to help Christians and non-Christians locate themselves in the map of life.

Microsoft Word - new-overlap-graphic.doc God's One New Humanity Living in the Overlap of the Ages
This is the context of our Life and Ministry.

Notes

1. We have been given the Holy Spirit as a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance.

(e.g., 2 Cor 5:15; Eph 1:13-14)
2. We are to live all of our lives in light of Christ's resurrection and in anticipation of our
future resurrection

(e.g., 1 Cor 15; Rom 8)
3. We must no longer live under the Torah or like the Gentiles do

(e.g., Gal 2:11-3:29; Eph 4:17-24)
4. In the Overlap we are salt and light to the praise of God's glory

(e.g., Matt 5:1-16; Phil 2:14-16)
5. We are sent back into the world to make disciples of all the nations.

(e.g., Matt 28:19; John 17:18)
