A Process for Learning to Choose Wisely Dyann and I developed this page to communicate to graduating seniors the way we intentionally evaluate larger purchases and significant lifestyle choices. It's not very original, but maybe a little radical. Don't miss our Excel forms for house buying.  (more info)

Housing decision-making forms Applying the principles and method outlined in a "Process for Learning to Choose Wisely" to a recent decision, we took some of the pain out of comparing apples with oranges - and the math involved. The top worksheet was the basis for notes before, during and after visiting a property. The template worksheet categorizes and prioritizes observations according to our values. Once it's finalized for the decision at hand, it gets copied to subsequent worksheets, one for each scenario, often including the status quo. All of this could look very different for someone else.  (more info)

On "the righteousness of God" in Romans This brief article seeks to explain what Paul means by "the righteousness of God" in his argument, especially in his letter to the Romans. Psalm 119 from Scottish Metrical Psalter This psalm is one of my home bases in the Hebrew and Christian scriptures. Encountering its themes embodied in tried-and-true singable English verse deepened my appreciation. I arranged and annotated the text in booklet form for teammates who were studying it in manuscript format. A couple of versions from other psalters are in rougher form, in case others are interested.  (more info)

Resurrection Sunday reflections This piece pretty much speaks for itself. It was primary written with an adult Sunday school class in mind, as we'd been exploring apologetic issues and Luke's Gospel together, often in light of current cultural and cross-cultural conflicts. (Note: The HTML preview offered in MX mixes the two columns of text in this file.)  (more info)
