Every Saturday we gather for football (soccer) in a sports club. Especially as the weather has worsened, our numbers have been growing, and it’s not unusual for us to have 25 guys gathered for the afternoon. Many of them are non-Christians who are not ready to come to church, but will happily play football with us. We start our games with prayer, and then break after the first hour for a 5-10 minute mini-sermon. Sometimes after our football games, many of us go to a bath house (think sauna), where we relax and discuss vital issues of life and faith.
Every Thursday night, together with two of our recent new believers, I lead a group for non-Christians and young Christians to examine the most important basic aspects of the faith. We start with a Q&A time, discussing any questions that members of the group may have. That's followed by a lesson on a central theme in the Bible, such as sin, grace, redemption, or the Cross. Last Saturday, our church had a baptism service. Three of our small group members were among those being baptized!
