Reflections on the Call to Ministry with Muslim Students

When I was a freshman in college I met two good friends- A. from near Chicago, and E. from Turkey. Over the past four years, I have loved getting to know these guys, my first Muslim friends.
It was fun not only becoming friends with them personally, but also welcoming them into the InterVarsity community at the university we attended. I’ve enjoyed watching my community of believers welcome them and share with them the love of Jesus.
As I prayed through my cross-cultural calling, I felt called to serve Muslims around the world. That’s why I’m really excited for the opportunity to help pioneer a new student movement in a heavily Muslim-populated region of the Central Europe.
A. and E. were lucky to have committed Christians around them who would be the light of Christ to them. Now I’m excited about this opportunity to continue in ministry and shine light in a land otherwise quite dark.
