Aisha My Sister by Sally Sucliffe (Solway Gallery) – Companion book to Ishmael My Brother, the author focuses on the lives of Muslim women (particularly South Asian) in the UK and practical suggestions for outreach to them in a western context.

Call of the Minaret by Kenneth Cragg (Oneworld Publications, third edition) – First published in 1956, this book remains one of the most acclaimed works in the field of Muslim-Christian relations. The author reveals that the Muslim call to prayer contains a summons for Christians and Muslims alike.

Muslims, Mothers, and Mini-skirts by Christine Mallouhi (Spear) – A great introduction to Middle Eastern (and Muslim) cultural values, the role of women in society and practicals of witness.

Sharing Your Faith With a Muslim by Abdiyah Akbar Abdul-Haqq (Bethany House) – A witnessing tool, published in 1980.

The Holy Qu’ran: English Translation and Commentary by A. Yusuf Ali, editor (Wordsworth Editions Ltd) – This translation is considered by some to be the best in English.

The New Encyclopedia of Islam by Cyril Glasse (AltaMira Press) – A great resource for defining Islamic terms and words that you will encounter in dialogue with Muslims.

The Prophet and the Messiah by Chawkat Moucarry (InterVarsity Press) – An Arab Christian’s perspective on Islam and Christianity. Looks at the Qur’an, the writings of Islamic theologians, and the Bible with an aim towards promoting dialogue. A dense and scholarly work.

Understanding the Koran by Mateen Elass (Zondervan) – Covering the background on its writing, how it’s used and viewed by Muslims, and some suggestions on how it should and should not be used in conversations with Muslims.

Waging Peace on Islam by Christine Mallouhi (InterVarsity Press) – The author, who married into a Muslim family, suggests we should emulate St. Francis, who during the Crusades went to be with the Muslims and even shared the gospel with the Sultan.

What Everyone Needs to Know About Islam by John Esposito (Oxford University Press, USA) – Written in a question and answer format by a very readable expert in Islam.

Why the Rest Hate the West by Meic Pearse (InterVarsity Press) – The author shows how many of the underlying assumptions of Western civilization contradict the cultural and religious values of significant people groups. Pearse's analysis provides a starting point for intercultural dialogue and rapprochement.
