John Perkins is an American Black Evangelical leader who has been a featured speaker at Inter Varsity camps and conferences (including a National Student Leadership Institute) and has served on Inter Varsity's Board of Directors.

He writes here out the passion of his heart for cross-cultural experience out of which integrated Inter Varsity and other Christian groups could emerge. This article appeared in the May 1990 issue of World Christian Magazine and is reprinted here with permission.
