Christian Teachers in Universities Associate Globally
Christian academicians and professionals in universities globally are associating together to encourage the "Shaping of Minds of 21st Century Leaders." International students currently in North American universities can take this calling seriously.
The International Institute for Christian Studies has formed in recent years to facilitate the Christianizing of universities all over the world and raise up a new generation of leadership for the mission of the church.
They do this primarily by finding scholars willing to teach overseas and then place them in key university settings. Christian International students and scholars might find an overseas teaching position in a university by applying through IICS!
According to their website, "In North America, Christian truth is often not welcome in higher education. But scores of universities in other parts of the world are asking for professors who are moral, ethical, hard-working, articulate and committed to truth, even from a Christian perspective.
"Students around the world are searching for hope and meaning. What an incredible opportunity for Christian professors to influence them by teaching in the classroom and ministering to them outside the classroom as well!
"Many ministries focus on reaching students through evangelism and discipleship outside the classroom. IICS focuses on teaching students inside the classroom as a part of the university system itself."
This vision resonates with a Lebanese Christian leader, Dr. Charles Malik, who decades ago said: "The university is a clear-cut fulcrum with which to move the world. Change the university and you change the world."
