What
a wonderful evening of true diversity around one Truth! The
annual International Christmas Dinner at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison was held on Saturday, December 19.
Co-sponsored by YWAM, Campus Crusade and InterVarsity
Christian Fellowship, the dinner was a time of laughter,
dancing, eating, and celebration. The potluck meal found us
with enough food to feed several small nations. . . Oh wait
- we DID feed representatives from several small, medium and
large nations! It was an amazing sight to see many different
faces from many far places converging into one long buffet
line before scattering about the many festively decorated
tables.
The
middle of the evening's program held the telling of the
Christmas story in a pageant form. Unsuspecting students
were hand-selected from the crowd of about 125, costumed and
then given scripts to read. STUNNING ACTING DEBUTS! "Mary"
even shared with us her 6-week old daughter to act as the
baby Jesus and "no crying she made." Astonished shepherds,
humbled wise men, a rumbling Herod, a roaming narrator and a
joyful angel all made the pageant a smash hit. Everyone
present sang carols interspersed throughout the drama. The
evening was a true testament, as the cast contained
individuals from several nations, that the gift of Life that
Jesus brought through His birth is truly meant for every
person on the earth.
Please continue to pray for international students in
Madison. May they grow to know Jesus so that they can
embrace the treasure of Him in their hearts and then shine
Him forth to the nations.
