Hotel Address & Phone Number

Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile
540 North Michigan Avenue
(Driveway Entrance on 541 North Rush Street)
Chicago, Illinois 60611
Phone: 1-312-836-0100

Read more about the hotel. You will be able to make your room reservation when you register for the conference.

Traveling by Plane

If you are flying into Chicago, two airports are available — O’Hare and Midway.

We know that travel costs can be high these days, and that finding a reasonably priced flight to Chicago can be a puzzle. You may find such websites as these helpful in finding the best fares and schedules (not affiliated with Following Christ 2008 in any way):

Farecast
Kayak
Orbitz
Priceline.com

Also, you may want to consider traveling by train on Amtrak.

Once at the airpot, you will most likely want to take the subway or shuttle from the airport to the hotel. If you choose to take the shuttle, you can make reservations for travel FROM the airport TO the hotel when you register for the conference. (Return shuttle reservations will be handled differently; more information about this will be available in the future.) Read on for more details about both these options.

If you find it necessary to take a taxi, a ride from O’Hare to the hotel takes one hour or less, and the estimated cost is $35-50. From Midway, a taxi ride downtown takes forty minutes, and the estimated cost is $20-30.

Chicago O’Hare (ORD)

Directions from O’Hare to the hotel via the Chicago Transit Authority

Subway service fee: $2 (one way)

The train terminal is located beneath terminal 4 at O’Hare Airport. Allow approximately one hour to travel by subway to the hotel. Trains run every five to ten minutes during the day and evenings and every thirty minutes from 1:00 am to 5:00 am.

You have two options for getting to the hotel from O’Hare by subway:

  1. Blue Line plus a longer walk or taxi ride (.75 mile): Take the Blue Line from O’Hare toward the Loop to the Clark/Lake stop. Walk north on Clark across the river to Grand Avenue, which is the fourth street after the river. Turn right (east) onto Grand Avenue and follow to Rush Street, which is the fourth street. The hotel will be diagonally across from you on the left.
  2. Blue Line plus Red Line plus a shorter walk: Take the Blue Line from O’Hare toward the Loop to the Jackson/Dearborn stop. Transfer to the Red Line, going north. Get off at Grand Avenue. Walk two blocks east on Grand Avenue to Rush Street. The hotel will be diagonally across from you on the left.

Directions from O’Hare to the hotel via shuttle

Continental Air Transportation Shuttle/“Airport Express” is our shuttle service for Following Christ 2008. When you register, you will be able to make reservations for a ride FROM the airport TO the hotel. (Return shuttle reservations will be handled differently; more information about this will be available in the future.)

A shuttle departs from the O’Hare baggage claim area about every fifteen minutes, and the cost is $23 per person one way. The shuttle service runs daily from 5:00 am to 10:30 pm. Allow sixty to ninety minutes for the trip.

Directions from O’Hare to the hotel via car

Hotel direction: 15 miles southeast

Driving directions: Take I-190 East into I-90 (Kennedy Expressway) East to the Ohio Street Exit (50B). Ohio Street is a one-way street eastbound. Take Ohio Street to Rush Street. Turn right on Rush for the hotel entrance.
