Scot McKnight speaks on the Gospel

At our recent Graduate & Faculty Ministries staff meetings, held in Mundelein, Illinois, we had the privilege of hearing Prof. Scot McKnight of North Park University address the topic of the image of God and the Gospel.

McKnight draws deeply on the Scriptures to paint a complex portrait of what is meant there by “the image of God” — adopting the Greek terminology for the human as eikon of God. He explains the multiple dimensions in which the image of God is “cracked” after the Fall, and he issues a challenge to rethink the presentation of the Gospel in light of humanity’s multi-dimensional need for restoration: in relation to God, self, others, and the world.
