Tom Trevethan
Research and Publications Coordinator
Ann Arbor, MI
A life-long veteran of campus ministry, Tom Trevethan has served as an InterVarsity Christian Fellowship staff member since 1967 in Illinois, Wisconsin, Pittsburgh, PA, and, since 1979, in Ann Arbor, MI. His ministry has focused on evangelism, formation of disciples, ministry leadership, and expository preaching. His current ministry is directed to university faculty with InterVarsity Faculty Ministry, where he serves as the Research and Publications Coordinator. Tom is the author of two books, Our Joyful Confidence: An Exposition of Colossians and The Beauty of God’s Holiness: A Meditation on the Reality of God, as well as numerous articles, and several hymns.
Tom married Barbara Miller on July 31, 1971. Barbara is a violin teacher, co-director of a children’s choir in their church, watercolorist, organizer of a neighborhood Bible study that has been going on for more than 15 years, and homemaker extraordinaire. Tom and Barbara are the parents of two sons, Nathan and Ian. Nathan is a landscape architect, married to Rebecca, living in Brooklyn, NY. They have one three-year-old daughter, Katherine Grace, Tom and Barbara’s only grandchild. Ian is a fourth grade bilingual (Spanish-English) teacher at P.S. 325 in Harlem in New York City. He went to New York as a part of Teach For America and continued to teach in the same school in Harlem. He is also a Gotham Fellow, a mentoring program of Redeemer Presbyterian Church (PCA).
