A Note from the Director

What a journey 2010-2011 has been for Faculty Ministry. It marked the completion of the fourth year of the Renewing The Source project's first phase (2007-2012). It has been my privilege to give leadership and oversight to this vital ministry of helping faculty flourish in their vocational callings and have a redeeming influence in their campus settings. We continue to search for the next director of Faculty Ministry and would relish your prayers in this effort.

Throughout the year, Graduate and Faculty Ministry (GFM) staff supported 49 faculty communities that served 62 university and college campuses with 656 faculty participants. Together, GFM and other InterVarsity staff related to 1,518 faculty associated with 519 chapters. Overall, we served 3,265 Christian faculty, providing them encouragement and resources to be a redeeming influence on their campuses.

A highlight of the year was the triennial gathering in January of all 1,200 InterVarsity employees around our vision to see “campuses renewed.” The motivation and commitment of InterVarsity, especially among our undergraduate colleagues, to reach out to faculty on campus was powerfully deepened. In the months since, many of the 830 “undergraduate” campus staff have sought out help from our GFM staff in engaging and ministering to faculty!

Our deepest gratitude to you for your partnership this year in our work to encourage and equip Christian faculty to be part of renewing our nation’s universities. We hope as you read this Faculty Ministry Annual Report you will join us in praising God, the One who sustains, as He continues to faithfully guide our efforts.
