This five-day research workshop, which will be held from July 16-20 and again from August 13-17, will focus on how to conduct research on religion, spirituality, and health, as well as how to develop an academic career in
this area. This event is approved for thirty AMA PRA Category I CME credits. Leading religion-health researchers
from Duke and the University of North Carolina will give presentations, and there will also be time to
discuss individual research projects. Each participant will
have thirty minutes one-on-one with Dr. Harold Koening and thirty minutes with another mentor.
Depending on the session, faculty will
include:
- Dan G. Blazer (psychiatry, epidemiology)
- Timothy Daaleman (family medicine)
- Judith C. Hays (nursing, public health)
- Harold G. Koenig (psychiatry, medicine, nursing)
- Keith G. Meador (theology, psychiatry,
medicine)
- Redford Williams (behavioral medicine)
Physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, graduate students, faculty,
clergy, and others interested in research may apply for a workshop spot. The
cost of this intensive workshop is $1,050.
If you are interested in attending either the July or August workshop, email Dr. Koenig (koenig@geri.duke.edu) for details. Workshop spots are limited so early registration will assure a place in one of these courses.
