The Mission of InterVarsity's Faculty Ministry is encouraging and equipping Christian scholars to flourish and be a redeeming influence among the people, ideas and structures of higher education.
Vision Statement
The Vision of InterVarsity's Faculty Ministry is that Christian faculty have a redeeming influence within higher education as they:
Establish witnessing communities of Christian academics that reflect the diversity of the body of Christ
Follow God's call in spiritual formation and vocational
discipleship
Balance excellence in life, research, teaching, mentoring,
and service, for the glory of God
Practice their disciplines from a profoundly Christian viewpoint
Core Values
Four Core Values permeate all we do and are essential for the development of Christian scholars who will renew our universities:
Spiritual Formation: Cultivating intimacy with God and growth in Christ-like character, expressed in faith, love and dependence on God.
Community: Gathering in communities to “encourage one another to love and good deeds,” to learn and worship, and to sharpen one another “as iron sharpens iron.”
Evangelism & Service: Demonstrating and proclaiming the gospel with love and boldness, calling all to repentance, faith, and new life in Christ.
Integration of Faith, Learning & Practice: Engaging in learning and biblical reflection in every area of scholarship and life, seeking a unity of knowledge and practice, because our God is the Creator and Lord of all.
