Christian Reflections on Contemporary Culture
Dates: Jun 17, 2005 - Jun 18, 2005
Hosted by: Missouri Baptist University

At this conference, featured speakers Philip Jenkins, author of The Next Christendom, and David Dark, author of Everyday Apocalypse, will address topics of contemorary popular culture.

Philip Jenkins will explore the search for new and hidden gospels over the past two centuries, most recently evidenced by the phenomenal success of the Da Vince Code, and ask what this suggests about the state of Christianity in the advanced Western world. He will also address the topic: "Global Christianity and the Future of Liberal Arts Education."

The conference will conclude with a lecture from David Dark titled "Apocalyptic for the People," concerning the apocalyptic mode in American popular culture.

For more information and to register, visit the conference web site. General registration is only $25, and students pay only $15.
