The Christian Scholars Foundation has awarded its 2009 Grant to Advance Christian Scholarship. CSF is a small family foundation formed to encourage and support Christian junior faculty in their efforts to gain recognition and stature in the academy, and to encourage them in the effort to integrate Christian faith and academic endeavor. The Foundation makes annual grants of $6,000 to $10,000 available for the purpose of cultivating and assisting Christian academics. Since 2007, these grants have been awarded exclusively to ESN members.

Pivotal to the publication of “Pastoral Care East of Eden: The Consisitory of Geneva 1586-1582” published in the Journal of Church History, and the book, Clerical Culture and Pastoral Care in Theodore Beza’s Geneva. Resulting academic presentations:
