Richard Ashley
Ric Ashley is an associate professor of Music and Cognitive Science at
Northwestern University. His publications deal primarily with the nature
of expressive musical performance, and he is President-Elect of the Society
for Music Perception and Cognition and on the editorial board of the journal
Music Perception. In addition to his faculty duties, Dr. Ashley
serves part-time as a campus staff member for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship,
working with the graduate and medical students at Northwestern. In his
work with InterVarsity, he is especially interested in the issues of vocation
and calling, human creativity, and the place of evangelical Christianity
in the academic discourse of the university.
