Nurturing a Vision for Service

One of the ways InterVarsity connects students to hurting people is through our Global Urban Trek.  Since our first Trek in 2001, we have offered students short-term missions projects in the poorest neighborhoods of major cities throughout the world.  From garbage-filled streets in Cairo to shanty neighborhoods in Bangkok, InterVarsity students have experienced the challenges and joys of ministering to the poorest of the poor.

InterVarsity’s Global Urban Trek is not for tourists.  These annual, summertime, six-week-long missions experiences are designed to help students and recent graduates understand the depth of people’s needs and test their own vocational calling of long-term service to the poor.

InterVarsity nurtures students and faculty in living holistic Christian lives.  And in learning to minister to others in the name of Jesus Christ.  We believe that God calls Christians to extend Christ’s love to all people, helping to transform their neighborhoods, communities, cultures, and nations for the better.  We nurture God’s vision of service in students through our Global Urban Trek.
