| This track is designed for those who have been asked by their InterVarsity staff or leadership team to lead a small group Bible study on campus. Learn how to prepare a Bible-centered study, finding the main truth of the Scripture passage and applying it to everyday life. Practice leading a small group and learn by observing other leaders. Gain skills and vision for your small group to become a witnessing community on campus.
Small Group Leaders need a clear picture of the mission that Jesus has for the campus. More than being Bible study leader, Jesus wants to take your group and make it a missional community. How do we go from sitting in a circle reading Bible stories to being a community that joins in Jesus mission on campus? How does leading a small group fit in with the rest of your chapter's strategy?
We'll spend a week studying who a missional leader is and how a missional leader influences their small group members. We'll practice leading small group Bible studies, gaining skills in to study Scripture in context and apply it to our lives in concrete ways. All of this will be done in community as we look to understand how intimate communities form and what leadership is needed to lead others to impact the campus culture for Jesus. |
