Leadership Institute overview
The InterVarsity Leadership Institute is preparation for a lifetime.
Making God the central priority of your life, being a more effective influence for Christ on campus, and being a better student leader is what the InterVarsity Leadership Institute is all about.
The Leadership Institute is designed to help you prepare for a lifetime of service as a disciple of Jesus Christ. In the context of God's beautiful creation at Cedar Campus, you will receive solid biblical teaching, concentrated time with other Christian students and InterVarsity staff, time alone to reflect upon God and to grow as a Christian leader.
We spend thousands of dollars and years of our lives preparing for a career. Yet we often spend little time and money learning the most important aspect of life - loving the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and our neighbor as ourselves. The InterVarsity Leadership Institute offers a month to do just that.

Character & Leadership Development
The focus of this training is two-fold: building Christlike character and developing leadership skills. Through a combination of morning workshops, individual study, role play, personal interaction with staff and practice of leadership skills, you experience some of the best training InterVarsity has to offer.
Personal life of a leader - Learn the spiritual disciplines and godly character formation that are foundational to Christian discipleship and imperative for Christian leadership.
Interpersonal life of a leader - Understand and experience healthy friendships, Christian community and the responsibility of leaders to initiate relationships.
Skills of a leader - Develop skills that will increase your effectiveness as a student leader in your chapter and on campus.
Mission of a leader - Understand the kind of world we live in, its effect on your life, and how to influence others for change.
The weekday morning curriculum tackles a range of aspects of these four themes. Afternoons are free for recreation and rest between site stewardship after lunch until daily prayer meeting before supper. Evening plenary sessions and Sunday mornings include musical worship and Bible exposition. Staff-led family groups are assigned onsite and meet after the evening sessions. Sunday afternoons begin with retreats of silence, and Saturdays are "off."
The postmark deadline for registrations for the Leadership Institute '10 is Sunday, May 30. To register, first complete the application form, and have your staff worker complete the recommendation form. Then register online or by mailing a printed registration form.

Information for the physically disabled
Unfortunately, facilities are not all barrier free and buildings are not easily accessible for wheelchairs. Those using a wheelchair should plan to bring their own attendant to help them deal with these campus limitations.
