InterVarsity's training and retreat center located on Catalina Island
Located in a quiet, secluded cove on Santa Catalina Island, Campus by the Sea invites its guests to step away from busyness and experience God's rest. Accessible only by boat, the 70 acres of land is laced with wooded hiking trails and scenic coastal views that have renewed generations of Christ's disciples. Owned and operated by InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, the camp offers programming for a wide variety of audiences, including Junior High, High School, College, and Family camps. Open February through Thanksgiving, the facility can serve a maximum of 220 guests at any one time.
The Lord Jesus invites His disciples to periodically come away to a quiet place and rest. As the stormy pressures of the modern world increase, so grows the importance of places like Campus by the Sea. Come to experience God's love, and grow in love for Him. Come to learn to love His Word. Come to grow in love for His people of every culture and ethnicity. Come to find out His purposes for you in His world. Come to Campus by the Sea.
Campus by the Sea Has a New Director
We are pleased to announce that Dave Noble is the new director for Campus by the Sea. He will officially commence his new duties around February 1. Dave comes to InterVarsity following a 33-year career at Forest Home Conference Center in southern California, a 500-acre facility that hosts 58,000 guests per year. He served the last six years as General Manager of Forest Home, supervising 250 seasonal and 125 annual employees.
We are deeply thankful for how well Susie Veon left CBS with a good leadership team in place, for how well that leadership team has served in the interim period this year, and how timely and generous is God’s provision of Dave for this role at this time.
Lighthouse Renovation Project
The signature structure at Campus by the Sea for both style and capacity is the Lighthouse. Built in 1982, it has served us well, however it is in need of renovation. Check our this page to see the progress report on developments.
