Urbana
In 2004 InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA announced a new location and the beginning of an exciting new era for one of our signature events, the triennial Urbana North American Student Missions Conference, held since 1948 on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Urbana, as it’s come to be called, is one of the longest-running, distinctive events of modern evangelical Christianity. In 2006 Urbana was held at our new location, the Edward Jones Dome and The America’s Center, in the shadow of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri. Another conference was held in 2009 and the next one is scheduled for 2012.
Access Issues
InterVarsity believes that members of our chapters should have the same rights as members of other student organizations on the college campus. Our chapter leaders work with school administrators to maintain good relations. However, our ability to maintain the spiritual integrity of our chapters is being threatened at some schools. For more information on this topic, check out our Campus Access Issues webpage.
InterVarsity Press
One of the ways that InterVarsity is known to the general public is through our publishing arm, InterVarsity Press. IVP is regularly recognized for the high quality of books under our imprints. IVP has a separate website, as well as a separate online press room.
