Kim Porter

Director of Learning and Talent - Vice President

Kim identifies herself as a product of InterVarsity’s campus ministry: “I came to college as a non-believer. There was a group of students on my dorm floor that reached out to me and I became a follower of Jesus.”

After graduation from Pacific Lutheran University she joined InterVarsity staff as a campus intern in 1991. She became a Campus Staff Member in 1993. Ten years later, she became the Regional Director for the Northwest Region, following a steady progression of increasingly expanding supervisory responsibilities. In 2011 she took on a new role, Director of Staff Director Training. In 2012 she earned a Master of Science Degree in Adult Education from Portland State University.

Kim has always sought to cultivate leadership: from a chapter planter developing a core of missional students to Northwest Regional Director growing a dynamic multiethnic team. During the two years in her role as Director of Staff Director Training, she focused on the development of leaders and facilitating an environment for learning.

Kim and her husband Eric currently live in Redmond, Washington, where Eric is a fulltime faculty member in the field of Physical Therapy at the Lake Washington Institute of Technology. They anticipate relocating to Madison during the summer of 2014.
