Impact
We have produced over 400 media tools to influence the university world. 2100's ministry has a reputation for excellence in both content and aesthetics. Our productions touch the lives of more than a half million people every year. Countless adults have told us stories of how seeing one of our tools as a student called them to faith and changed the whole direction of their lives.
We are also committed to encouraging and giving practical experience to young, Christian artists and communicators. More than 350 students from a dozen countries have participated in our internship programs.
Awards
In 1980, Habakkuk was awarded a gold medal at the International Multi-Image Festival in Vail, Colorado. 2100 has also received both bronze and silver Telly Awards for excellence in video production. |

Origins
2100 Productions has its roots in Africa where Eric Miller and a group of fellow seminary students began successfully using slides and contemporary music as part of an evangelistic outreach in Nairobi, Kenya. After returning to the U.S., Eric was asked by InterVarsity staff in Southern California to put together an evangelistic multi-image media show to be used among university students.
Shortly before the scheduled first showing in April of 1970, the producers were struggling to come up with a name for this production. Someone suggested it simply be called what it was, Multi-Media Communication. Although no one liked the suggested title they did realize that the initials of that title, MMC, also formed the Roman numeral for 2,100. Thus the first production was "temporarily" named TWENTYONEHUNDRED and never changed.
In addition to numerous portable one and two-projector shows, four touring road-shows were produced: TWENTYONEHUNDRED, Lord Lord, Beyond Human Control and Habakkuk. In the 1980's we produced several 16mm films and then shifted most of our production format to video and print. Currently, most of our production is released in video tape format or electronically over the internet. |
