The Saint
Scene description:
DVD chapter: Chapter 12
The Saint is an action movie so the scene has a little bit of spy lingo. It starts at 1:00:00 and lasts about 2:30.
Val Kilmer is a for-hire thief. He uses the names of saints as aliases but is so wrapped up in his high risk life that he has lost any sense of who he really is. Elisabeth Shue is his lover who confronts him about his lies and the multiple identities he has constructed. She asks, "Who are you," and he replies, "No one has a clue, least of all me."
The clip could be used in the context of identity. Who are we and what are the names or images we hide behind so that others will not truly see what lies underneath our carefully crafted exterior.
